Yana Dzhan-Sha

Yana immerses herself in the essence of the Russian Far East, communicating the local cultural intricacies through a diverse range of mediums: clothing, postcards, wild plant tea from the region, paintings, and collages. Among her notable projects are "Kollazh-Dvizh" and "Kabarga Travnik." The "Kollazh-Dvizh", which originated in 2017, hosts gatherings where participants engage in the art of cutting and pasting collages from magazines, photographs, and similar materials. This process offers a fresh perspective on familiar elements, allows the participants to visually express their concerns, and nurtures their creative thinking. They meet every two weeks, cutting pictures and combining them to create unique collages. Through the "Kabarga Ttravnik" project, Yana shares captivating tales of wild plants plants of the Russian Far East, accompanied by beautiful illustrations. In 2022, as part of the project, she released a set of postcards featuring personalized drawings of Far Eastern wild plants called "Superplants of the Khabarovsk Krai." Through her art, Yana challenges stereotypes about herbal tea blends, while also promoting the appreciation of native taiga wild plants, conveying their intrinsic value and numerous benefits.
