Veronika Usholik is a multifaceted artist, embodying the roles of a girl, a seagull, a sorceress, and a shaman. Her talent earned her recognition as one of the top six winners in the esteemed "Ethnolife - Sound of Eurasia" ethnic performers competition. She proudly holds the title of "Guardian of Chukotka Traditions." As a founding member of the ethno-rock band Gubernator, Veronika's irreplaceable contributions as a vocalist and songwriter shine through. Her journey as a singer began at the age of nine, and she possesses a unique and mesmerizing throat-singing technique accompanied by the traditional instrument "vargan," handed down to her by her ancestors. In Chukotka, throat singing is known for its guttural, raspy sound, often imitating the wildlife of the region. Veronika's repertoire spans jazz, blues, and rock, but she finds her passion in ethno music. As a vocalist, she exclusively performs her own compositions, each a new original creation. A member of the ethno-rock band Gubernator, Veronika sings in the Chukotka language, showcasing the rich cultural heritage. She made history with the music video "Plach," the first shot in Chukotka with Chukotka language lyrics.
