The Marleyns is an indie music band from Vladivostok, founded in 2017, with Denis Bindasov as the songwriter and lead vocalist. They don't limit themselves to one genre, blending elements of fun rock, Afro-Cuban, funk, reggae, dub, and even folk in their music. The band has released six studio albums and over a dozen singles. In 2018, their album "Noch Serebrianoi Luny" ("Night of the Silver Moon") showcased a musical experiment with nine songs, each narrated by talented musicians from the local music scene, portraying mystical characters like ghouls, forest spirits, spiders, witches, and sirens. The band headlined the International Eco-Ethno-Festival “FourE” in Kazakhstan. They also had the opportunity to open for Zemfira at the Wild Mint Music Festival and for Mumiy Troll at the central square of Vladivostok.
Their project "Legendy i Mify Primoria" ("Legends and Myths of Primorye"), which includes 12 songs about the landmarks of Primorsky Krai, earned them the prestigious TEFI-Region Award. They have participated in various festivals such as Wild Mint, Dobrofest, V-ROX, Wings of Sakhalin, FourE Kazakhstan, Reggaefest, Platano Fest, Vladivostok City Day, Divnye Berega. They also headlined a number of festivals, including Ostrov 10-21, Rooks, Nanograd, The Days Festival.
In 2019, they moved to Moscow and held solo concerts on the stages of the Green Theater of VDNH and Zaryadye Park. With an impressive track record of over 300 concerts in five countries, they were awarded "Best Band - 2015" at the Prostor Festival and "Always First - 2016" at GrinkMA. Their motto, "We breathe with gills," beautifully captures the essence and spirit of the band.
