
Since 1972, Pavel's journey in photography began when his father gifted him his first camera, Zorki 11. Through his works, he acquaints the audience with the history of Kolyma and the picturesque landscapes of northern territories. In 2002, he founded and became the head of the Hunter Press, now a leading center of literature in the Magadan region. It is renowned for producing a diverse range of publications, including illustrated books, anniversary editions, textbooks, teaching aids, and books encompassing local history, geography, pedagogy, and psychology. Their publications have been repeatedly presented at the annual Russian book festival "Krasnaya Ploshchad" in Moscow and the prestigious St. Petersburg Book Salon. Notably, their publications have received gold and silver medals at the Far Eastern Book Exhibition-Fair "Pechatny Dvor." From 2003 to 2008, Pavel also curated the Sputnik Aviapassazhira magazine, contributing as an author of materials related to the history of Magadan history, territory, aviation, geology, and the Gulag. He is the author of several personal and joint photo exhibitions not only in Magadan but throughout Russia and abroad. Through books and photography, Pavel introduces people to his homeland and promotes local literature.
