Anton Novgorodov

Anton is a skilled documentary photography, capturing powerful and moving stories about people's lives, events, and emotions through his unique perspective. As a freelance photo correspondent for prominent Primorsky media outlets, he collaborates with Russian and international news publications, and also conducts workshops on reportage photography. In his documentary projects, Anton delves into questions related to remote territories and the complexities of human interactions with their surroundings. One of his early projects focused on the Stavropol Cossacks living side by side with Chechen people. To bring this project to life, Anton traveled to a small stanitsa (Cossack village) and lived in the home of an ataman (Cossack leader). In October 2022, his documentary project "Subjects of Empress Eugenie," received acclaim, winning the "I Live in Russia" competition and being exhibited at the Main Headquarters of the State Hermitage Museum. Additionally, it received the Award of Excellence in the renowned international documentary photography contest CPOY'76.
