Kauri is, above all, a passionate collective of contemporary dance enthusiasts. Founded in 2000 in Vladivostok, the dance studio is led by visionary inspiration and choreographer Tatiana Domvidova, who holds a MFA in Choreography from The George Washington University (USA). Her primary goal is to develop contemporary dance in the Far East. The studio offers training in various types of dance, including modern jazz, contemporary, contact improvisation, and classical dance. Currently, their repertoire includes over 20 performances. While the scenographic solutions in their productions remain minimalist, the choreography is always rich, as they use dance to convey stories about human experiences. Their performance "Nesluchainost. Tikhii Razgovor" ("Non-randomness. Quiet Conversation") reached the semifinals of the prestigious national award for the Russian National Theater Award "Golden Mask" in 2010.
After experiencing a Kauri performance, Tatiana makes sure the audience leaves enlightened, energized and emotionally relieved, thanks to her dedication to creating meaningful dance experiences.
